Supporting Women & Families Supporting Women & Families

Our Vision for the Mid-South laid out in the Community Foundation's Community Investment Principles encourages us to "create a just and equitable region where all individuals and groups receive the resources and opportunities they need to reach their full potential, and where identity and geography do not determine their outcomes." That vision will not become reality if women and families cannot access opportunities to thrive.

According to the 2020 American Community Survey completed by the U.S. Census Bureau, in the Memphis metropolitan area, an estimated 39.1% of families in which a woman is the head of the household live below the poverty line. In Memphis proper, 34.7% of woman-led families live in poverty.

This region is home to several strong, effective nonprofit organizations that meet the unique needs of women and families across our community. Explore below to view LIVEGIVEmidsouth.org profiles that include information about agencies' mission, staff and board, major programs, and finances. You can donate to the organizations directly from their profiles.
