Nonprofits

The Community Foundation of Greater Memphis works with nonprofits across the Mid-South in various ways. We bring to the table expert knowledge on related issues, potential partners in the causes you support, and venues and people that can help speed progress. We offer grants to support innovative work in our neighborhoods and institutions, as well the most pressing needs in our community. We provide strategic options for managing your own funds in a manner that ensures growth and stability.

Ready to partner with the Community Foundation?

  • CREATE A NONPROFIT PROFILE

The first step your organization should take to work with the Community Foundation is to create a profile on WHEREtoGIVEmidsouth.org, a directory of nonprofits in the Greater Memphis area and part of LIVEGIVEmidsouth. In order to be eligible for grant funding through the Community Foundation, an organization must have a published, reviewed WHEREtoGIVE profile. Any nonprofit is invited to build a profile, so get started on yours today!

  • ATTEND A HELP SESSION

While creating and maintaining a WHEREtoGIVE profile, learn industry best practices for nonprofits and build your organization's capacity through Profile Help & Events. In addition, LIVEGIVEmidsouth has a strategic partnership to provide training opportunities so you can build your confidence and capacity to lead more efficiently and effectively.
  • EXPLORE OUR GRANT OPPORTUNITIES

If you determine a grant opportunity of interest, review your organization's eligibility and the grant timeline. When that grant program opens to applicants, you can register as a Grant Admin through our online grant portal and complete the program-specific application.

  • RESERVE THE COMMUNITY ROOM

The Community Foundation offers nonprofit organizations the use of the Gid H. Smith Community Room for business meetings and professional purposes, free of charge.

  • INVEST WITH US

The Community Foundation offers nonprofit organizations in the Mid-South an opportunity to invest alongside the Foundation’s other assets in its diversified family of investment pools. The result is the best possible investment solution for an agency's long-term financial assets.
