We are pleased to welcome Hallie Peyton and Russ Wigginton to the Community Foundation's Board of Governors. Each has an outstanding track record for volunteer leadership with area nonprofits, and each brings professional and civic perspectives that will strengthen our organization.
Hallie Peyton is Director of Client Services and a Shareholder at Legacy Wealth Management. Prior to joining Legacy in 1999, Hallie was a First Vice President and branch manager National Bank of Commerce. Hallie is a graduate of Centre College and the holder of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation. She is a member of the Community Foundation’s Navigator Society in recognition of her past work in referring clients to us. She serves in the vestry at Grace-St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and has served in various capacities with St. Mary’s Episcopal School, the Episcopal Diocese of West Tennessee, and the Dixon Gallery and Gardens.
Russell Wigginton was elected in 2021 to become the third president of the National Civil Rights Museum. Russ has deep roots in the Memphis community, having worked at Rhodes College, his alma mater, as a history professor and senior level administrator for 23 years. He earned his doctorate in 2000 in African American History at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Russ has served on numerous civic boards, including the National Civil Rights Museum, Memphis Zoo, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mid-South, Facing History and Ourselves, Ballet Memphis, ArtsMemphis, UrbanArt Commission, Bridges USA, St. George’s Independent Schools, Promise Academy Charter School, and KIPP Schools.
