GiVE 365 accepting grant applications through Feb. 6, 2017
MEMPHIS, TENN. (December 15, 2016) – GiVE 365, the dollar-a-day philanthropy initiative of the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis, is accepting grant applications from area nonprofits. The theme for this year’s grant cycle, as voted on by the GiVE 365 membership, is Foundations for the Future: programs that help youth meet their potential.
Grants will fund programs or projects offer opportunities for youth to learn and develop in areas including: education, vocation, recreation, mentoring, behavioral health & support groups, entrepreneurship, the arts, and technology. Key dates in this year’s grant cycle:
• February 6, 2017 – Applications due online at give365memphis.org.
• April 11, 2017 – The Finals event. Members hear pitches from the finalist applicants.
• May 9, 2017 – Grant awards announced
Formed in 2010, GiVE 365 unites and informs emerging philanthropists to make a collective impact on Greater Memphis. Members donate $365 a year, pool their money with others, and vote on both an annual grant making theme and grant recipients. GiVE 365 hosts social and educational events and gives members the chance to actively participate in the grant process.
In 2016, seven organizations were awarded $52.285: Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis, Exchange Club Family Center, Hope House, HopeWorks, Indie Memphis, Let’s Innovate Through Education (LITE), and Memphis Crisis Center.
GiVE 365 members have distributed more than $378,000 in six years. In addition to the grant pool, GiVE 365 has grown its endowment to more than $475,000. Membership currently stands at more than 260 individuals, couples, families, and businesses.
