Community Foundation joins local leaders in encouraging public support of education reform efforts

Elliot Perry wants every child in Memphis to have a chance at a first-class education. With the help of community leaders -- both individuals and organizations -- Perry is encouraging Memphians to join the Education Champions campaign to support public education. At a breakfast Thursday morning, Perry and others called on guests to "change the conversation" about public education in Memphis, acknowledging obstacles, but focusing on efforts to help children overcome obstacles. These efforts have the potential to provide a better future for our children, Perry said. The Community Foundation is among backers of the campaign.
