National school nutrition guru to lead meal improvement for Memphis students

Tony Geraci, who brought scratch cooking and locally grown produce to Baltimore's public schools, is out to change the menu for Memphis City School students.

Geraci started work this month as director of food service for Memphis City Schools. He arrived less than a year after he visited Memphis in December 2010 to share his Baltimore experiences with local leaders. The Community Foundation co-hosted that visit in connection with our Healthy Eating Active Living initiative. Read more about Geraci and his plans for Memphis City Schools in an Oct. 20 article in The Commercial Appeal.
