GiVE 365 surpasses goal as members vote on next grant recipients

GiVE 365 -- the new giving community launched in 2010 -- has reached its goal of 200 members and soon will announce the recipients of almost $50,000 in grants.

Members heard presentations from the 17 nonprofit finalists last week and are ranking them online. The GiVE 365 steering committee will review the results before announcing the top-ranked nonprofits Oct. 20.

By reaching the goal of 200 members, GiVE 365 qualified for a $20,000 matching gift from Sylvia Goldsmith Marks. GiVE 365 allows members to make their charitable gifts go further by pooling them and then deciding collectively on the nonprofits that receive grants. As of Tuesday, Oct. 11, the group had 201 members.
