Grizzlies Foundation

Jenny Koltnow, executive director of the Grizzlies Foundation, answers our questions:

Tell us a little about the Grizzlies Foundation.

The Memphis Grizzlies Charitable Foundation was established in 2004 to make a profound impact on the Memphis community. As the philanthropic arm of the NBA's Grizzlies, the Foundation is committed to serving Memphis youth through mentoring and education. It fosters partnerships and provides various resources to add value to each monetary contribution. It was preceded by the Memphis Grizzlies Charitable Fund, a donor-advised fund at the Community Foundation that was established in December 2001 to make grants to Memphis-area nonprofit organizations.

To date, more than $24 million has been contributed to support Memphis-area nonprofit organizations. Our partners include: Memphis Athletic Ministries, Soulsville, STREETS Ministries, Girls, Inc., MIFA, ArtsMemphis, St. Jude, Church Health Center, Urban Youth Initiative, Youth United Way, Exchange Club Family Center, Youth Villages, Bridges and Memphis Child Advocacy Center.

Why did the Grizzlies Foundation join GiVE 365?

The Grizzlies Foundation's "roots" are at the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis. We greatly value our long-standing partnership and are committed to supporting efforts that encourage community engagement and charitable giving.
